California... Girlfriends... Baby Shower

I got back on Monday from a VERY fun trip to California. I got there last Thursday night and my Dad picked me up from the airport. It's always enjoyable to have that time to spend with my Dad. :)
On Friday my Dad and I had lunch together and just hung out. Then when my Mom got home from work we went and got pedicures. Oh my goodness. The last time I had a pedicure was the Christmas after we got married. With my body all out of sorts as it has been in the last few months (gee I wonder why?), it was heaven to have my feet pampered and looking pretty. After my pedicure with my Mom, my best friend Lisa met me at my parents house and we headed over to Olive Garden for a girls night dinner. Oh my goodness it was SO much fun! There were about 11 of us there. I love all of the girls that were there. Some of them I haven't seen for almost 3 years. It was so good to be able to catch up with all of them. I will include some pictures from dinner in the slideshow below. :)
Saturday was the big day. I had my baby shower at my sister-in-law Monica's house. My Mom, Monica, Tory, Katie and Amber put a lot of work into making it so awesome. I had so much fun. I was able to see a bunch of people that I have known forever that I don't get to see all of the time since I live in Oregon now. I had so much fun visiting with everyone and catching up. It was so weird that I was actually at my own baby shower. For so long I have been going to friends baby showers wishing they were my own, and now my time has come. It was so fun. Tucker is going to be the best dressed kid in town. He has more clothes than David and I put together, and half of them are nicer than ours. That's how it goes though. He is definitely a well loved baby boy! :) I am planning on going to California in February to show him off to everyone and gets some 3-month pictures taken of him by my really good friend Katie. She also took pictures at the shower, so I will post them when she has them ready for me. :)
Before I go on I have to brag about this awesome deal that I got. I got the stroller that I wanted for my shower so I was DARN excited! When I got it home to my parents house I started putting it together and realized that in important part was missing, I also realized that part of it didn't work as well as I had wanted it to. So I took it back to Target with the intention in mind that I would just purchase one in Oregon when I got back. I wanted to hit up babies-r-us before I left California though since the closest one to us is in Portland. So my parents and I went and got dinner and then headed to babies-r-us. My main reason in going was to get the diaper bag that I really wanted. Then while there we thought we would look at the strollers. My Mom happens to grab one that was on sale. Turns out, it is the stroller that I REALLY wanted, but didn't register for because it was $250.00. I thought that was too much for a stroller. Well, this particular one was on sale because it was returned out of the box in perfect condition. So it went from $250.00 to $199.00 and I had a $20.00 off coupon. SCORE! I was and still am so freaking excited. I never get a good deal on anything, and finally my turn came! :) I saw my best friend Amber as we were leaving the store and I was all too excited to tell her my awesome deal. :)
Anyway, on Sunday my niece Chelsey (who is 15) gave her first Sacramento talk. So my parents and I went to that. She did so well. Later that evening we went to Mike and Tory's house for dinner, and celebrated Cali's 2nd birthday. It was so fun to be with the family. Of course I always enjoy spending time with family. :) When we left that night it was really weird to think that the next time I see Mike and his family, and Bryan and his family I will be a Mommy with a little one. I think I'm going to try and convince my sister-in-law Tory to come out for a few days in the beginning of December. :) We'll see!
Monday morning around 8:00 my Dad and I headed up to Oregon in the truck. It was the only way I would be able to get everything up to Oregon before the baby comes. It was fun for Dad and I to be able to spend all that time together. Just after we ate lunch in Ashland while we were going up a hill the transmission decided it didn't want to make the trip anymore. We pulled into a car shop in Canyonville and they told us that since it was driving OK in 2nd we should make it to Salem. We got in about 6:30 Monday evening and while David and Dad unloaded the truck I made dinner... Subway! :) Tuesday morning Dad and I took the truck into Aamco and the worst was confirmed... a complete re-build was needed. So I told Dad that at least in Oregon it's Tax Free. :) As unfortunate as it is that the truck needs repairs, David and I get to spend an extra day with Dad. So last night we took him to a BBQ place called Busters. It was darn good. Then we drove him around Salem to see all of the different neighborhoods that David and I would live in if we bought a house. It was fun! I can't wait for February when all my family is in town when we bless Tucker. It will be fun to show everyone our city! :)
Now that I am done with all of my travels I am ready for this baby to come. Although, I am glad that I have a couple of months to get everything organized for him. Thank goodness my Mom is coming in October so she can help me get everything together and organized. :) I go to the Dr. again on Monday afternoon. Hopefully everything is still going good. I am kind of hoping that I keep measuring big because then hopefully I can get another ultra sound before Tucker comes. It would be fun to get another look at the little guy! :) I'll keep everyone posted. Enjoy the pictures below! :) I just looked at all of them and I didn't realize how tired I look lately. I'm telling you, this child is sucking the life out of me! I wonder if I'll ever be the same again! :)

What a fun weekend for you. I'm sorry I had to miss it. You can imagine how much fun I didn't have at the CDA! I almost got you the diaper bag from Target and am glad that I didn't know after reading your blog that the one you wanted was at Babies R Us...lol. That's cool you got a good deal on your stroller. Check out my blog for the deal I got on my crib!
