Whoa, 2-posts in one day, watch out!

On a better note from the previous post…

GOODBYE FIRST TRI-MESTER, hello 2nd. YAY, yesterday marked the first day of week 12, which hopefully means food will start tasting normal again, and I’ll get some more energy. I found this cartoon to sum up life right about now…

Cartoon

When the bough breaks…

…Or even the whole dang tree!

Normally when we look out our window our wonderful neighbor/landlord’s front porch looks something like this… Washing the car with Daddy 08-23-10 (2)[3] Well, yesterday afternoon around 3:00, it turned into this…

Front of house That’s right, a HUGE pine tree split 1/4 of the way up the trunk and completely destroyed their porch. It was devastating to our wonderful neighbors. Fortunately for us, it only hit the corner of our house and broke a gutter, and maybe a few shingles. I was lying on the couch getting ready to take a nap while Tucker was down, so I called David to make sure he made it to the office OK in the wind. Before he left he mentioned how ugly it was outside. I had been out there 10-minutes earlier and it was fine, my landlord was even blowing leaves. So, I told him it was just Doug out there with the blower. Well, when David left and it didn’t stop for 30-minutes I figured out it was actually the wind. So he and I laughed for a minute then hung up. Literally, 30-seconds later I hear this loud CRACK, and the lot’s of scraping on our window and commotion. So, I thought that the wind had actually ripped the screens right off of our window. I jumped up to look, and instead, this is what I see…

P1010008I grabbed my cell phone and started calling Jeri (neighbor/landlord) and ran to the front porch. Fortunately Jeri and Doug were running out there at the same time and we all were in shock. Our other 2-neighbors had run out as well and we all kind of gathered together and just stared at the tree, really not sure what to think. I called David back and told him, it was hard to explain exactly what had happened so I sent him a picture on my phone. A few minutes later he called back and said he’s on his way home to help. About 4:15 or so David and Doug started hacking away at the tree with chainsaws to start moving it out. Our wonderful friend Travis Harris came over to help, and we are SO grateful. Our other friends, the Coombs, offered their help as well. It was such a warm feeling to be able to help our neighbors, and see our other neighbors gather together as well. It gave me that sense of neighborly love that I remember having growing up on Stone Canyon Circle. When something bad happens, everyone gathers to help in the effort.

They worked through the rain well into the dark before they had to stop for the night. It’s amazing how much they got done. I didn’t get pictures of the progress, but I’ll take some tomorrow afternoon. For now, here are a few more of the wreckage…

Our neighbors had such a pretty landscape with flowerpots, and little tress… not anymore.

First Baby Purchase

We made our first baby purchase this weekend, which is making this baby seem a little more real. When we had Tucker, David’s older sister, Angie, was kind enough to let us use their crib. We appreciated it so much. Then she had the nerve to go and get pregnant in time for us to not be able to use it for this baby. ;) Just kidding, we are SO excited that she is expecting and glad that she has more use for the crib. So, we have been looking around and getting ideas for what we want for a crib. We had NO intention of buying one so soon, but when something this good comes along you can’t turn it down. First, a picture of the crib, and then the details. :)

thumb2 So cute right?!?! We love it and are so excited for it to be ready for pick-up. We ordered it from JCPenny.com and got a SCREAMIN’ deal on it. This crib is on closeout and regularly sells for $419.99. After the sale price, coupons and free shipping we scored it for… wait for it… $169.99! I am SO excited! This crib will be perfect for us and will easily last us through this baby and  if we have another. It is called the Chocolate Mist “Dylan” Convertible Crib and is from the Westwood Brand. It goes from crib, to toddler bed, to full size bed. Now we just need to wait and find out what we’re having (not until April), and then we can decorate it with all of the cute bedding! :)

Comments…

All I’m saying is if you visit the blog… leave a comment. It’s fun for me! Since no one sends letters in the mail anymore, I look forward to checking my blog for comments! :) So, if you have a second… leave some comments. They would make for one very happy ME! :) THANKS!

1st Dr. Appointment

Well, we finally had our first Dr.’s appointment on January 26th. Everything went really well. The baby was still too little to be able to hear the heartbeat, so hopefully next time we go in we’ll catch. David and I walked away from that appointment with even more confidence in our WONDERFUL Dr. Bowen. I seriously love that man! I don’t know if I would be able to trust anyone else to do a c-section for me. He is so great, and I never feel like he doesn’t hear my concerns or thoughts. It also helps that he is a member of the church. That gives me a little peace of mind.

Our official due date is August 28th. The Salem Hospital will not let you schedule a c-section for more than a week before your due date which puts us at August 21st. However, since that’s a Sunday, as of right now we will be delivering the baby on Monday August 22nd. So crazy to know the day so early on! We are SUPER excited though. We’re hoping that over the next few months Dr. Bowen sees fit to fudge the due date a little so that we can deliver on Friday the 19th or Saturday the 20th. It would work SO much better with David’s work and whatnot. But, we’ll do whatever is best for the baby! :)

So far this pregnancy couldn’t be any more different than with Tucker. I have the WORST heartburn EVER! It’s brutal. With Tucker I didn’t get very much at all. I cannot touch meat with a 10-foot pole. Any kind of meat makes me sick to my stomach. With Tucker I wanted a hamburger EVERY Day! I am craving fruits and vegetables. With Tucker I craved a lot of salty things! I didn’t throw up with Tucker. With this one I have thrown up at least once a week for the past month. Now, I know I shouldn’t complain because a lot of women throw up everyday for 9-months. But, when you go from not barfing at all, to anything, it’s a lot! The one thing that’s the same is that water tastes disgusting, and I don’t sleep very well. So, go figure! On Feb. 12th I’ll officially be out of the firs trimester, so maybe things will turn around for me then. We’ll see!

My next appointment is February 25th,  so if I don’t update before then… I’ll do it then. :)

This cartoon is mostly because I hate spongebob! Enjoy!

Christmas – Part 2

As promised, here is the second half of Christmas. Honestly, I am too dang tired to type too much out. So, I give it to you in pictures. :) Those are more fun anyway!

I had to work the morning of Christmas Eve. So before I went in we opened the Christmas Gifts from my parents. This was how excited Tucker was when he realized that we were actually going to let him open the gifts under the tree! :) Such a funny kid!

Christmas Eve - Boehrer Gifts

Here are the rest of the pictures from that morning. Don’t judge my AWESOME hair, I had just woken up and was EXHAUSTED! Tucker had SO Much fun opening the gifts!

Christmas Eve we went up to David’s parents house and had dinner and a little program. All of the grandkids “sang” jingle bells. Tucker that he was SO cool because he got to ring the bell! I know that not all of the kids look the greatest in this picture, but I think Tucker looks stinkin’ cute! Christmas Eve FHEAfter all of the grandkids sang, each family had a chance to showcase a talent. We didn’t do anything because Tucker wasn’t cooperating! Oh well! Here are a bunch of the pictures from the evening!

Christmas Morning was so fun with Tucker! Here is our family picture! Again, no judging, it was a looooooooooooong night the night before!

Christmas Morning (4)

And, here are the rest of the pictures from the day.

All in all, we had a good Christmas! David got me an Air Popcorn Popper and I was SO excited! Tucker got loaded up with Geotrax stuff, and David got Madden NFL for the Wii. We had a great holiday spending time with family, and looking forward to next year when we have a new little addition to our own family!

For journaling purposes here are a few things we want to remember…

Tucker was starting to get anxious when we were opening the gifts since he had to wait for his turn. When we finally let him open his Mater Remote Care for his Geotrax he sat so nicely the rest of the time and just looked/”read” the back of the box. It was so cute!

It has become tradition for Pappa (my Dad) to get Tucker something 49ers for either his birthday or Christmas. This year Tucker got 49er sweats and a sweat shirt. The funny thing is that my parents got him a boys medium, and he’s really only in a 5T or maybe a boys XS. Well, Tucker is able to wear the sweatshirt without any problems, and the sweats are almost wearable as well. Just more proof that our “little” boy is growing without any problem!

On Christmas Eve we told all of my family that we are expecting another baby. The hard part was I hadn’t told my parents yet, and my brother Dan called me on our way up to Tigard and was teasing me about getting pregnant and saying that I should soon. I so badly wanted to tell him, but I knew I had to tell my parents first. So, when I called him later that night he was pretty surprised that I actually was pregnant and he told me that I had played it off well! :) Everyone was SO excited when we told them, but I think all of my nieces and nephews were the most excited!

We told David’s family we were pregnant on Christmas Day. We had his Mom open a small package that had a positive pregnancy test in it with our due date on a sheet of paper. Don’t worry, it was in a plastic bag. :) Again, everyone was pretty excited!
