Bailey’s Birthday Week

Monday

Since it was Bailey’s actual birthday, we spent the morning fawning over her. We had lot’s of fun loving on her and giving her kisses. David had to leave for Phoenix that day, so I had fun stuff planned for us. I put her EVER so cute birthday outfit on her, and we headed to the gym. Of course, everyone at the gym thought she was DANG adorable. Smile

Ready to hit the gym! Smile

That afternoon we headed up to Grandma and Grandpa Mize’s house and picked up Grandpa and headed to the Visitor’s Center at the Temple. It was really cool to see the interactive stuff they had there. After the Temple we went to Deseret Book so I could get some new church books for the kids.

Tucker thought it was so neat to see Jesus standing there, especially when the talking started. After the talking was done, the Sister Missionary told Tucker that he could touch the marks in the hands and feet. Tucker was very curious to see what they felt like. As I sat watching him explore, I thought of 3 Nephi Chapter 17 when the Savior speaks to the children, and he teaches them. And they are give the opportunity to go and touch the marks in the saviors hands and feet. It really brought that scripture to life for me.

When Grandma got off of work we all got ready to head over to the ever-so-delicious Olive Garden and enjoy a delicious Birthday dinner for Bailey. First we had to open Bailey’s birthday gift from Grandma and Grandpa. Just before Bailey opened her gift she decided it was time to TAKE A STEP! Agh, so crazy! And, ever since then she has been getting more and more daring. Smile I love it, but at the same time I hate it! Such a bitter sweet thing it is having your babies grow up.

Of course her big brother had to help her. Smile

TUESDAY

We got up and got ready for the day. Then we piled into Grandpas car and headed to the Coast.

Bailey was pretty good for having had shots the day before. She loved her new book that we bought with her birthday money from Grandma and Papa Boehrer. IMAG1242We made our first stop in Cannon Beach and after poking around a few stores, we headed down to the sand to play. Once we got to our spot I took my shoes off, and the first words out of my mouth were, “Wow, this sand is so soft. It’s like California sand.” It felt SO good on my feet. This was the first time that Bailey has been to the beach and she LOVED it. Tucker wanted to build mountains in the sand, and al Bailey wanted to do was climb over them and crush them. It was so funny to watch them interact. A few times Bailey thought it was a good idea to face plant the sand and try to eat it. I would love to say that she learned her lesson, but instead she just wanted to keep doing it. Silly girl!

Yeah, apparently sand doesn’t taste as bad as you would think.

After our stop in Cannon Beach we headed down to Tillamook to go to the Cheese/Ice Cream/Fudge factory. It was so fun. Tucker loved watching all of the cheese get packaged. The machines were pretty cool. Both he and Bailey were pretty intrigued by it. I don’t have any pictures from there, but Grandma and Grandpa have them on their cameras. So as soon as I get them I will post them.

After Tillamook we stopped at another beach so we could get our feet wet. We stopped at a spot called Hug Point. The sand was great there as well, and the water was GREAT. Tucker and I went to put our feet in, and we came out with my pants wet and his whole body wet. But we LOVED it. We weren’t cold at all. It was perfect. Bailey absolutely LOVED the sand again and wanted to eat every rock she found. She definitely keeps us busy.

Once we had our fill at Hug Point we headed home. Bailey started to get restless, so I switched her to forward facing since she is 1 now and it is allowed. She LOVED it! Of course I had to get a few cute pictures of her. Smile

Like Great Grandmother, Like Grandmother, Like Mother, Like Daughter. We sure do love our Diet Coke. Don’t worry, the can was empty except for a few drops.

Perfectly content now that she is forward facing!

WEDNESDAY

Today was a more relaxing day. We got up and did our normal routine of going to the gym. After Bailey’s morning nap Erin Harris came over and helped me take Bailey’s 1-year pictures. She was a perfect little model long enough for us to get some cute pictures. Erin is still editing them, so as soon as they are ready I will post them on here. Daddy comes home tonight and we are SO excited. The rest of this week will be getting ready for Bailey’s big birthday party on Saturday. WOO!HOO!
