I was driving home from the grocery store today and I was suddenly overwhelmed with gratitude for so many things in my life.
I look around at so many people who are suffering because of the economy. I would be lying if I said that David and I aren’t feeling the effects of it. Everyone is feeling the effects of it one way or another. However, I am so grateful for the things that we do have. So, I feel like I need to constantly remember the following things…
* We have the knowledge of the gospel and strong testimonies of it.
* We have a strong, health and amazing son who makes us smile everyday.
* David has a job that recognizes his hard work, and we have faith that he will be rewarded for that hard work.
* We have a wonderful marriage and family. Love abounds in our home from all members.
* We have parents and siblings that are supportive of us and our decisions.
* We are able to provide food for our son. Much in part thanks to WIC which provides LARGE amounts of formula.
* We are able to have GREAT insurance for Tucker so he can get all of the healthcare he needs to keep him a healthy and strong baby.
* David and I are able to have insurance to take care of all of our needs.
* We have a roof over our head and food on our table.
* I was able to find a job that allows me to bring in a little extra money.
I hope that no-one thinks of this as any sort of bragging. I am PURELY expressing my gratitude for all of these blessings in my life. David and I are so fortunate to be in such a wonderful place in our lives. I pray daily that my friends and family will be blessed with the things that they need. I taught a lesson yesterday in church about how the Lord knows each one of us individually. I truly know that that is true. Heavenly Father knows us all by name! One of my favorite scriptures is in 3 Nephi 13:32-33 which reads…
“For your Heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”
I truly live my life by this scripture. I hope that someone, somewhere out there reads this scripture it can help them just as it has helped me!
I couldn't agree with you more, Jenn. And it is not even the least bit braggy. Sometimes I know I forget about all these blessings, and then I read something like your post, and I have been reminded again, that life is not as hard as I make it out to be sometimes. :)
Thanks for sharing this Jenn. It really helps put things into perspective when we appreciate what we DO have instead of what we don't. Thanks for the reminder. ;)

Not braggy at all...your words were beautiful! Isn't it amazing what the Lord continues to bless us with! Where are you working?

Good post. It's easy to lose sight of what we have when think of how much we want and don't have. Thanks for keeping us grounded.
Way to be greatful! So what job did you find? I sure could bring in a little extra money. These online surveys I do pay squat.

You're awesome & have such a great attitude! :)
Love my girl. Great post.
Thanks, that is such a sweet post. I guess you can take the girl off the mission but never the missionary out of the girl. :)
