Tooth and Sitting-Up

Alright, can someone please tell me where my baby went? Seriously, it seems like in a matter of 10-days he went from my baby Tucker, to my not-so-baby Tucker. It’s so bitter sweet! Here is a progress report of the last ten-days…

Friday, July 17th he started the army crawl. He was rather slow at it at first, but by Monday he was a dang professional. Starting that Tuesday he figured out that he doesn’t need to crawl only in a straight line, he can turn himself as well. So he is ALL over the place. It is SO much fun!

Last night, the 27th, Tucker learned that if he grabs onto the side of the bathtub, he can almost stand up. Then about 5-minutes later he figured out that if he leans over enough, he will fall out of the bathtub. It’s a good thing David was right there and caught him. That is why we don’t leave him in there alone, well that and the whole drowning thing. :)

Today, was a VERY monumental day for 2-reasons…

1 – TUCKER GOT HIS FIRST TOOTH! YAY! We were at dinner at Red Robin, since it’s about 105 degrees outside, and I decided to check Tuckers mouth for any teeth. Low and behold, I found a tooth that had finally poked through on his lower left. David and I were SO excited! He was kind of fussy this weekend, but I was attributing it to not sleeping well because we stayed in Tigard at David’s parents house. He through up twice while we were there, so then we thought he was getting sick. His nose was SO runny and stuffy, so I thought cold. But, looking back now I can see how all of those point to teething. Honestly, I hope the throwing up thing doesn’t always happen, but we can’t really control that. :) I am trying to get a picture of it, but that is easier said than done! :) Here’s the best I could get…

2 – Tucker has now started to be able to sit-up on his bum from a crawling position. It is so exciting, yet so nerve raking at the same time. Because he has learned to do this he likes to do it in the bathtub as well. It was really cute though just now as I am typing this post, I see Tucker’s head pop up on the other side of the coffee table, and he had just sat up and started looking around. :)

Oh, my baby is seriously learning so much now and growing so much. I love it so much. But like I said, it’s so bitter sweet! We are working on getting video of Tucker going from crawling to sitting and then pulling up on the table. As soon as we get it I will post it!  Until then…

It's so funny when they are at this stage.. you think you have everything baby-proofed until they are REALLY able to move on their own and then you go, "Oh Crap!" Oliver has learned about doors... He will crawl into his room and close the door. We had to get a stopper so it wouldn't close all the way. It's challenging but I agree, SO FUN!
