Frozen Update with Warm Tucker Pictures

Well, if anyone has caught the news lately, you might have noticed that the Pacific Northwest is experiencing an "Arctic Freeze" I believe is what they are calling it. It is pretty darn cold. Most of the schools in the area were closed all week, David's work schedule has been all sorts of sorted, the roads have been either icy or snowy all week, and it's been BORING being trapped inside. One night I made David take me to Wal-Mart so I could run in to get diapers and wipes. It was sad how excited I was to go to Wal-Mart for diapers and wipes. On Thursday we had a small break in the weather so Tucker and I went and ran some errands. Of course Tucker decided to BARF his whole bottle up on himself and the car seat in the middle of Kohls. Awesome! It was awful! But we survived. On Friday night David and I took Tucker to see Santa. I was so excited for Tucker to see Santa because I looked forward to it so much when I was younger. We got the BEST picture of Tucker on Santa's lap. Then we walked around the mall a little bit. Saturday afternoon I got to take Tucker out again to do some Christmas shopping and give David a chance to catch up on sleep. He's worked overtime the last two weeks, so I figured he could use some quiet time at home. Tucker and I had fun out and about until the weather turned and we had to carefully find our way back gome. But we made it safe and sound. Today, Sunday, we woke up to some AWFUL weather... again. Only today, everything was FROZEN! Frozen enough that church was cancelled. David went out and took some fun pictures. So, today we've been cozying up and staying inside. I was able to finally pick up the kitchen and front room, vacuum, and work on the baby announcements, which we are hoping to get out this week! :)
David and I have figured out a routine that works for us I think. All week while David is at work I take care of tucker... obviously. When David get's home we both take care of Tucker depending on his needs. On the Friday and Saturday nights, I get up with Tucker the first time (usually between 3:45 and 4:45), then David gets up with Him the second time (usually between 7:15 and 8:15). Since Tucker usually falls asleep again after David gets up with him, they will sleep together on the recliner in the front room. Then during the day on Saturday and Sunday David usually takes care of Tucker unless he needs to eat, that way I can have a break and get things done. It's nice to finally have a routine. We are having so much fun with tucker. It is so fun to listen to David talk to him when I'm doing things. They talk about some random things! :)
We are excited for our first Christmas with Tucker. It was fun to wrap gifts and sign some of them from Tucker and some of them from us. It's kind of hard for me this year because we were supposed to be in California with my family, but with David's work schedule and Tucker being so young we aren't able to travel. But, at least we have David's family here to be with and even more importantly we have our own family now to celebrate the holiday season with. But, in true fashion, my whole family is going to be in California over New Years, and David and I will be here in Oregon. I am bummed that my whole family will be there, but, again, work comes first, and David has to work on January 2nd. We will enjoy our time together though.
Below are some pictures for your viewing pleasure. Some of them are of Tucker doing what he does, and the others are from various parts of our stormy week. We hope everyone who has had a taste of this storm are safe. :)
Whenever Tucker lays on my side of the bed he stares at the Temple on the wall (obviously you can't see it in this picture) but it's totally cute because sometimes he'll be staring away and then totally bust into a really cute smile. :)
He looks like a little Orange and Black Tadpole.
He looks like such a big boy in these overalls. They are dang cute though! :)
Tucker likes to lay in his boppy on the couch between David and I. He will always stare at the picture of David and I that is hanging above the couch. It's so cute!
This is the grass in front of our apartment. Each individual blade of grass was iced over. David said that when he walked on the grass it just broke beneath his feet. He said it was a weird feeling. This is the bush in frony of our apartment. David could break off leaves with the ice still on it, it was really cool looking.

My poor little California born car doesn't know what to do in this freezing weather. :(

David walking on thin ice. He's kind of good at it! :)

This is how thick the ice was that David was attempting to walk on. Not super thick, but thick enough that he could stand on it for a second before it would fall through.
