My Shoulder Appointment

I went to see the Orthopedic surgeon today for my left shoulder. It has been bothering me a lot lately, aching all the time, and really sore. So I finally gave in and made an appointment with the Dr. for this afternoon. I went in expecting the worst and hoping for the best. And I think that I got the epitome of a happy medium.
The Dr. told me that I have what is called Bursitis. I have an overgrowth of bone that rubs on my tendon and causes it to swell. The exact definition of bursitis is inflammation of the fluid-filled sac (bursa) that lies between a tendon and skin, or between a tendon and bone. The condition may be acute or chronic. Fortunately I have an acute condition. It's hurts like a mother of a gun! Of course when I went into the Dr. today it didn't hurt as bad as other days, but he still got the gist of it. So, he told me that I have an overgrowth of bone, and that it's not too serious. He gave me strength exercises to do, and a shot of Cortisone! I would love to say that it is feeling better, but it's just not. My parents have both experienced bursitis, oh and my best friend Lisa. My parents both told me that shot made it feel better, but Lisa was quite the opposite, she said that it continued to hurt like a mother of a gun! So, I'll have to give it time. I have a follow-up appointment on November 16th, so we'll see how it is then! If you are interested here is a link to a site about bursitis:
