I got this quote from LDS Gems in my e-mail the other day and loved it. So, I thought that I would share it with all of you along with my thoughts.
"Being a mother has never been an easy role. Some of the oldest writings in the world admonish us not to forsake the law of our mother, instruct us that a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother, and warn us not to ignore our mother when she is old. (see Proverbs 1:8; 10:1;23:22).
"The scriptures also remind us that what we learn from our mothers comprises our very core values."
I love what these say. The part that warns us "not to ignore our mothers when they are old" stuck out alot to me. My Mom has been a great example of this to me. My Mom's Mother is still alive, and barely hanging on at times. She is blind, and somewhat senile. But, we love her none-the-less. Grandma has sure out put my Mom through alot in the last 4 years since my Grandpa Bailey died. She is extremely dependant on my mother for pretty much everything. My Mom has stuck through most of it. Like any human she has had her times that she wants to give up and say forget it. But she knows better. There are days I am sure that she is helping my Grandma only because that is what Grandpa would appreciate, but I know that deep down every day she does it because she loves her. I am sure the my day will come that I will have to take care of my mother, and my children will have to take care of me. :-) When I read this quote Istarted thinking about Julie B. Becks talk at conference a few weeks ago entitled "Mothers Who Know". Here are just a few bullets from the online copy of it...
* There is eternal influence and power in motherhood.
* Mothers Who Know Bear Children
* Mothers Who Know Honor Sacred Ordinances and Covenants
* Mothers Who Know Are Nurturers
* Mothers Who Know Are Leaders
* Mothers Who Know Are Teachers
* Mothers Who Know Do Less
* Mothers Who Know Stand Strong and Immovable
I love that she gave us this list. I feel that it gives me something to work on. I know that I hope to be a "Mother Who Knows" when my time comes to have children. I hope to be able to bear them up right in the gospel. I hope that I can bear children who know their parents love them and want the best for them. As I read these quotes and talks I get so excited to start a family with David and embark on that wonderful journey of motherhood.

Come on, just do it already!! You know you want it! :)
Well, I won't bug you like everyone else. You do it when you are ready... just do it soon, so our kids can play. I love you.
Um. Sorry if I'm bugging you. Maybe I really won't post anymore.
