So, I have a funny story to share. I have been highlighting my hair since I was a Sophomore in High School. Honesty, if it weren't for my roots I wouldn't know what my natural hair color is. David has only ever known me as a "blonde" and it is foreign for him to think of me as a brunette. Well, I decided to make that easier for him. Anyone who has their hair highlighted or colored knows how expensive it is. I mean really, $70.00 every two months for hair is not cheap. Well my roots were getting pretty bad and I didn't want to pay the money for a professional, and last time I tried to highlight my own hair it was really sad. So, I made my way over to Fred Meyer on Tuesday and bought a box of hair color. I didn't want it to be too drastic so I got a "Light Golden Brown" color. I didn't tell David because I wanted to just surprise him, and I knew he had to work late Friday night so I would do it then. Friday night comes along and David heads off to work. I work out for an hour and decide to start in on my hair. All gloved up and ready to go I mix everything up and start applying it to my hair. At first the color doesn't look so dark, but as I am applying it to my hair it's getting darker and darker. I don't get too concerned because I remember that it said on the box that the color of the product does not reflect the color of your hair. So, I finish the application and set my timer for 25 minutes. The box said 25 to 30, but I didn't want to do the whole 30. When the timer goes off I jump into the shower and start to rinse my hair... holy cow, that color is DARK! No worries, I'm sure my hair isn't that dark. I get out of the shower and decide to blow dry my hair. I wanted it to look as good as it could because I didn't want David to see it all messy. While blow drying my hair I realized that it's not so light. It's actually REALLY dark! But, I am lovin' it! My roots aren't obvious at all. I think I might have actually found my natural hair color. I try to stay awake long enough for David to get home and see it, and I just crash.
Now, this morning is where all of the fun comes in. We wake up about 8:30 to watch conference a 9:00. I didn't turn the overhead light on in the bedroom, just my bedside light so I could take notes. I am waiting for David to see my hair but he isn't saying anything. So, I get up to get something during a song and as I come back into the bedroom I flip the switch for the overhead light. Here is what happens... Flip the switch 3...2...1... David says,"Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, what is going on. Whoa! Who are you?: My wife is a blonde. Who are you, what did you do!?!?!?!? I can't sit on this bed with you, you aren't my wife!" All this while he is walking in and out of the room! Oh man, it was the funniest thing I have ever seen. He was so shocked! He finally got over the shock of it and got back on the bed. I kept telling him how everyone that had seen it (I text a picture to a few people while he was freaking out) thought that it was so cute and perfect for winter! So we kind of laughed about it, and for the rest of the morning and afternoon I would catch him just kind of looking at it. Once I had finished working out and showered I did my hair and he realized that he doesn't mind it, it will just take some getting used to. So, we'll see how long it lasts. I love it! It's nice to be all one color again, and mostly my natural color! :) Here are a few pictures for everyone to enjoy!

This is the last picture I have of my natural hair color from Freshmen year Basketball. The other two girls are Lisa Dent (far left) and Sarah Forman (center). My hair was SUPER dark!
And now... the revealing...

It's doesn't even look as dark as it did in the text! I don't know what David is freaking out about, it looks more light light brown than dark. Still looking good though.
I think it looks great! It's not dark at all, at least not even close to the natural dark color in high school. Can't wait to see you next month.
Love ya.
