Last night our little family headed down to Riverfront Park for a Work BBQ for David. His company has been through a LOT these last two years, and as they prepare to close the doors they wanted to do something nice for the employees and their families. It was really enjoyable and some delicious BBQ! :) Tucker loved hamming it up for everyone… as always. David of course had to have Tucker all dressed up in his Beaver gear. He looked pretty darn cute.
There were a few firsts for Tucker last night. Let’s explore in pictures…First Snow Cone
Tucker Quickly found the snow cone machine. I think he was first drawn to the noise that it made, and then he saw the ice turn color with the flavoring and he was HOOKED! :) I didn’t get too many pictures because I was doing a lot of damage control with the staining colors. He had one with flavor, strawberry of course, and then he probably had 4 cups that were 1/2 full with just ice. He LOVED it!
He didn’t like just biting it so much, so we gave him a spoon. :) First Face Painting
There were some ladies there doing face painting on the kids, and the few adults that felt the need. We weren’t sure how Tucker would take to this, but he was pretty good. To match his gear, David wanted her to just write OSU on his face. It’s kind of smeared because he wasn’t completely still, but he did well. As long as we would let him hold one of the paint brushes and dip it into the water, he was OK.
He wasn’t SO sure of it. But he did well. I love the look on his face in this picture. It is typical Tucker lately. :)
Last but not least
First Carousel Ride
Now, most people would say, “What kid doesn’t LOVE the carousel?” To that I answer…
This Kid! When we first got on he was fine. See, here’s a picture to prove it…
Then it started moving, and at that point was when he wanted nothing to do with it. So we ended up here…
Tucker was pretty content at this point. Once I got him calmed down, then I started to get motion sick. It was the longest 3-minutes of my life. Now I remember why I hate carousels!
All in all it was a good night. I enjoyed meeting more of David’s co-workers and being able to spend some good family time together. We have a busy couple of weeks coming up, so it was nice to get it started last night.

Audrey hated the carousel too! She was fine when I first set her on the pony but as soon as it got going.... she and Tucker looked exactly alike and I ended up on the 'sled'.... getting motion sick. So it's ok, you're kid is just as messed up as mine! :)
Your family is so cute! So when are you coming into town...I remember that is was soon? I am so lucky to live close to everyone's parent...you all (You, Lisa, Allison) have come here sooner or later so I get to see you! We should totally have a playdate for the boys if you have time!
