Last time David and I were in Tigard his little nephew had a cold. Now, whenever David and I are around little kids it's next to impossible for us to not love on them and hold them. So, needless to say we got sick. Now, usually David gets it worse than I do, however this time I got hit harder. But I'll survive it!

Now, as much as I hate the colds and sickness that come along with this season, it is such a GREAT time of year. Living here in Corvallis the colors are beautiful in fall. Driving down the roads on and off campus you can almost picture yourself in Vermont or in a beautiful fall painting. It is amazing. The rain started this weekend, and as inconvenient as it is, it adds such a shimmer to it all, and definitely puts the icing on the picturesque feeling of it all. The atmosphere of it all definitely makes up for the other things that Corvallis is definitely lacking! :)
Along with the beautiful landscapes, the fall winter brings the greatest Holidays. We start it with Halloween. It's not a Holiday with a ton of meaning, but it's a great excuse for family and friends to get together and spend time with one another. I love handing out candy to all of the little kids and they get so excited about their little costumes. It's so much fun. Then, soon after Halloween... Thanksgiving.
I love Thanksgiving with the whole family gathered together, getting louder and louder by the minute because each one is just as happy as the next to share their stories. The delicious food the overflows the table (even though the result of that could be 5 pounds or so lol), and after the dinner, my favorite is the homemade Pumpkin Pie! Delicious! Then myself, and whoever I decide to go shopping with that year, will sit down in the family and spread all of the shopping ads out and map out our attack plan for the next day, while David figures out the game schedule and decides which games are top priority and which games you check on commercial. David definitely doesn't mind my shopping the day after Thanksgiving because then he can watch all of his football games uninterrupted Yes, I am one of those crazy people who gets up at 3:00 in the morning to go shopping. You can't knock it until you try it, because the amount of money I save is totally worth it! :)
Which brings me into the next great part of this season... CHRISTMAS! I love Christmas, I love the shopping and the wrapping and the decorating and everything about it. I'm not going to lie, it's nice to get gifts and whatnot. However, to me the best part is being with the family and watching all of the faces of my little nieces and nephews as they open all of their gifts. The greatest is when they open a gift and it's pajamas, they sure try to be excited. It's just an amazing time of year. The time that we have to reflect on the Savior and his life on the earth. To remember when the Savior was born and the circumstances at the time. It sure helps to put alot of things into perspective. I think that it's great that we have that time to remember the Savior right before the new year. The New Year is a time that is notorious for people to want to make changes in their life. I love it all. I am so excited for this season and hope that it is an amazing season for everyone!

You got me way too excited for all these holidays! Especially Christmas. We'll be spending it with my family but then coming to Portland around the 28th I think. Oh, and the fall colors... love them too but it was snowing here on Saturday. I don't think I'm quite ready for that...
