August E-mail

Wow, it's kind of late into September and I haven't e-mailed yet for August. Life has been busy, but really good.

The beginning of this month David and I moved into our new apartment, and that went well all considered. We have had a few issued with our carpet because it has alot of spots, but that is all resolved and everyone is happy with the outcome. I have attached some pictures of the apartment for everyone to see. We have finally gotten all of the pictures up on the walls and whatnot, so it is home now.

On the 18th of August, David and I traveled over the Pendleton (Eastern Oregon) with his family to celebrate Grandma and Grandpa Mosby's 60th Anniversary. That was enjoyable. All of David's Mom's family was there so it was nice to meet alot of the family that I didn't know. David and I drove home late that evening and got really loopy on the way home. I think we were rather deliriously tired and had the laughs like nobody's business. We were laughing so hard at one point that David didn't realize he was going 55 in the fast lane. So, that made us laugh even harder when we realized that we had turned into the people on the freeway that we hate. I think it was a blessing in disguise that we had so much fun on the way home, because the Lord knew that we were going to be driving to California 3 weeks later and normally I am far from pleasant in the car. So, the end of August, the 31st, we drove down to California. We made really good time, 8 hours with only 1 stop. David was proud that I didn't ask him to stop more than once (normally I want to stop alot). We really enjoyed ourselves on that drive. While in California I got my hair cut short and I love it. It's so much easier to do everyday. But, that's not the whole reason we went to California. We had two reasons for going down. The first reason is because my niece Taylor Renee was blessed on the 2nd. She is a cutie pie! I love her! Also, my niece Cali had her first birthday party. Now, let me just explain Cali to you, she is NEVER sad! She is always smiling and when her Dad walks into the room you better watch out because she will do anything and everything she can to get to him. It's so cute! And, she doesn't want you to hold her unless you can keep her entertained, if you aren't playing with her she'd rather crawl around and find her own fun. It's SO cute! We had a blast in California, and an enjoyable ride home as well!

I am well into my new job now and I enjoy it. I am picking up on how to do things rather quickly and I love it! It's always nice to hear the surprise in your co-workers voice when you tell them that you already figured out how to do something. Such a sense of accomplishment. I enjoy working on my own and having my own responsibilities, as well as others to work with occasionally.

David is still loving his job. His last day of summer school was on the 16th. He passed summer classes with a 3.4, so he is happy with that. He is starting to get a little trunky because he got his graduation application last time he met with his councilor. So, that night we spent alot of time discussing different job options, and places to live and whatnot. It's all becoming more realistic now that we aren't going to be broke college students forever. It's scary also. But, together we can get through it all. For anyone who would like to come out for David's graduation it will be on Fathers Day of 2008. We don't really expect everyone to come, but if you do we can offer you our floor to sleep on, first come first serve for the bed in the office. :-) David is excited to start the fall semester, now that the light at the end of the tunnel isn't so far off anymore.

David and I have made a new Sunday tradition for us. We don't do this every Sunday, but often enough. Something that my family would always do for fun is go for rides and look at homes. So, David and I have ventured off into Corvallis and found some huge and beautiful homes. If you have ever been to Corvallis you probably wouldn't think that there were any Million dollar homes here, well... there are, there are actually MULTI-million dollar homes here! It's insane, and they are beautiful. It's often just dreaming for David and I, but it's fun to do.

Anyway, I better wrap this up. We have to head over to some friends for a BBQ! I love you all! I hope that everyone is doing well. Please keep in touch when you can.

Love,

Jenn and David
