Reunited
Yesterday evening, in what was described as a peaceful moment, our beloved President Gordon B. Hinckley was reunited with his beloved companion Marjorie. We will miss him greatly, but having the knowledge of the gospel that we have, it is nice to be able to look at death as just another step in life. I will forever be grateful for the wonderful influence that President Hinckley had on me in my personal life. He helped my testimony of the gospel grow through his wonderful stories and words of wisdom. He was an amazing man to listen to, and had such sincerity in his voice. I know that the next appointed prophet we'll have will guide us just as well as President Hinckley did and continue to lead us through revelation. We will miss you President Hinckley, but we know that you are happy now reunited with your beloved Marjorie.

Waiting For God's Timetable
I received this quote today in my e-mail in-box. If any of you don't subscribe to LDS Daily Gems, I highly recommend it. It is so nice to get an uplifting thought in my e-mail everyday.
I read this one though and it really hit me close to home. With everything that has gone on these last couple of weeks with David and I, I have a huge testimony of the message of this quote.
I read this one though and it really hit me close to home. With everything that has gone on these last couple of weeks with David and I, I have a huge testimony of the message of this quote.
"Elder Neal A. Maxwell linked patience and faith together when he taught: 'Patience is tied very closely to faith in our Heavenly Father.Actually, when we are unduly impatient, we are suggesting that we know what is best--better than does God. Or, at least, we are asserting that our timetable is better than His'
("Patience," Ensign,Oct. 1980, 28).
"We can grow in faith only if we are willing to wait patiently for God's purposes and pattern to unfold in our lives, on His timetable."
(Robert C. Oaks, "The Power of Patience," Ensign, Nov. 2006, 16-17)
I hope that we can all remember this daily in our lives. I received a blessing a few months back that spoke loudly about having patience. Patience with the Lord, Myself and those around me. I was told that things will happen in their own time, in the Lord's time. When I read this quote it humbled me so much to think that I might have ever questioned my Heavenly Father knowind what is best for me just by being impatient. One of the greatest songs I have ever heard is "Unanswered Prayers". What a lesson we are taught in that song. My impatience has often resulted in unanswered prayers, and although at first I have been upset or angry, in the longer run I am always that much happier. The Lord's timetable is always the right timetable, no matter how hard we try to force things. What an amazing blessing the gospel of Jesus Christ is in our lives.

The Lords Hand Is An Amazing Thing
David and I have had an interesting couple of weeks. On Friday, the 11th, I was laid off from my job (they gave me two weeks notice, which was nice). I did the one thing that I do best... FREAK OUT! They told me at the end of the day, and David and I had already made plans to go to Portland for the Temple and dinner with his family. So David came and picked me up, after I called him and told him he needed to get there A.S.A.P., and I handed him the letter. I was bawling and all stressed. He was reassuring as always, and really concerned about me more than anything. So we head up to Tigard to meet his family for dinner because we DEFINITELY need to go to the temple at this point. On the road I called my parents and told them, then I called my brother Dave. After talking to Dave I was so exhausted from crying and stressing that I just didn't want to do anything. About 1 minute after I hung up with Dave, David turns to me and says, "Aren't you going to call your other brothers?" I said, "Why?" He came back with the best response, "Because that is what Boehrer's do, you call each other about everything." It's so true, so very very true! Then he said, "Plus, you know it will make you feel better." Again, he was right. So, I call my brothers Mike, Dan and Bryan. All of whom I was going to call after dinner, but glad I didn't wait. They all had very reassuring words, however Dan said the best thing EVER. He said, "Collect Unemployment, Get on Food Stamps and whatever else the government will give you and live the high life." Really, how can you not laugh at that. He was kidding of course, but it was darn funny. Dinner was enjoyable with David's family. They are always so supportive and caring. We went to the Olive Garden and that can ALWAYS make a bad situation good. :)
The next morning we went to the Temple and it was awesome. It was such a great reassuring experience. Right at the end of the session I had the most overwhelming feeling that everything is going to be just fine. We need to just keep going with life as we had been. So we head back home and just relax for the day. We both felt so at peace and comfortable with everything. Sunday comes, and during Sunday School one of the Bishopric Members pulls us out to give us callings (we are now on the activities committee). Before he tells us about the calling he asks David about school and then me about work. So I tell him that I had just gotten laid off, and he right away tells me about a job opening that he was told about on Friday. It was awesome. We told him that we aren't planning to be here much longer than June and he said I should still look into it. That alone gave me hope that something will work.
Monday morning I go to work and call the job from the Bishopric member, then I get on Craig's List just to see if there is anything on there, and there is a job posted for a tax office, just until Tax Season is over (April 15th) so I send my resume over. About 1 hour later I get a phone call from the tax office to set up a time for an interview. YAY! I set it up for Tuesday afternoon. I also got a call from the other job and they want me to drop a resume off.
Tuesday I drop a resume off and I go to my interview at the tax office. It was such a good interview. I hit it off really well with everyone. They told me that they would get back to me by Friday. I went back to work and got on with my day. At 4:00 I get a phone call... from the tax office, they offered me the job. It was so awesome. It works out perfectly for David and I. With all of the hours that I will be working we will be able to save enough money that between April 15th and the time David graduates we will have enough saved that I can just keep busy doing random babysitting and whatnot. It is GREAT!
I have seen the Lords hand so strongly over the last two weeks. It has been amazing and humbling. My brother Dave told me, "It can't get any worse." And, he was right. It couldn't get any worse, so it only got better. I know that David and I were blessed for having faith in the Lord and doing what is right. We are so fortunate for the opportunities that have been given us, and only hope that we can live worthy enough to receive the blessings the Lord has in store for us.

Happy New Year
I just realized that I still haven't posted about our New Year Celebrations. My whole family (minus one brother and family because he had sick daughters) congregated to Las Vegas, NV where two of my brothers live. We flew out Friday morning, the 28th, and returned New Years Day late in the evening. We had so much fun with the family. Their was a lot of good food, as there always is in Vegas, and lot's of fun sites. I was able to go shopping with my sisters-in-law and Mom, and David was able to hang out and watch football with my brothers all day every day there was a game on. He was in heaven. On New Years Eve Day we went to lunch with some family to Red Robin. Yes, we all LOVE Red Robin, I think we should buy stock in it. Anyway, lunch there was fun. After lunch David and I took the opportunity to walk through the mall for awhile since the closest mall we have to us at home is 40 miles away. Now, seeing as we were in Vegas one might think we party'd on the strip that night. Well, no we are not that stupid. On the news they there was an expected 6000 people to be on the strip that night. INSANE! So, instead we hung out at my brothers house and watched some guy make a motorcycle jump on TV the length of 322ft. It was pretty cool. One of my brothers was sick, and another one had to go home before midnight to get his little ones in bed. So, at around 10:45 David, Rachel (my sister-in-law), Bryan (my brother), Monica (my sister-in-law, Bryan's wife), My Mom and I all sat down to a ROARING game of Skip Bo. Anyone who hasn't played that game, it is a lot of fun. My Dad sat on the couch and watched some old Western movie. At about 11:45, Dave (the sick brother) came downstairs and joined Dad on the couch. So the rest of us went into the family room with them to celebrate the new year at 11:59. Then, at 12:05 we were back to Skip Bo. It was not too eventful but a lot of fun. New Years day I went shopping with my sisters-in-law and My Mom, then we picked David up and headed to the airport to come home. We had so much fun, and can't wait to make it out to Vegas again. :)

Merry Christmas
Christmas was so much fun this year. We were in Tigard, OR with David's family and we had so much fun. We headed up Friday after work and came home last night. Saturday we had a fun day of making Ginger Bread Houses, and eating a ton of yummy food. We also watched the BYU game. Dave made a bet with our brother-in-law Ryan that BYU would lose. If David won, then Ryan had to wear David's shirt to school that says "It's not east being easy". That would have been REALLY funny because Ryan is in dental school. ;) But, since David lost (in an AMAZING save by BYU) he has to wear on of Ryan's BYU shirts to school on the first day. Those crazy boys! David and I had so much fun with our nephews. We have three on his side, Riley (3) Teddy (1) and Joshua (1). They are super cute! Teddy was making David and I laugh on Saturday because he was being so lovey and wanted to talk to us about everything he saw. It was so cute! Riley was happy as could be with the present that his Grandma and Grandpa got him. He loves trains, and it was some sort of train thing that I think every kid for a 50 mile radius would know what it is. Joshua was a little munchie just walking around being such a people watcher. It was so cute.
Sunday we went to David's parents ward and then came home and had lunch. After lunch we played a game of Rummy and I WON! It was GREAT! After cards I had to head home so I could be at work Monday morning. Really lame but I survived. Monday afternoon when I got back to David's parents house, David and I went with his Dad to go and buy a new 42" Vizio tv, and...shocker... David talked him into getting a new DVD player and a movie. It was fun to tag along. We had a nice family dinner on Christmas Eve which consisted of a delicious Ham and yummy trimmings. Then, we had a nice family game of Wii bowling. It was so fun. My Mother-in-law dominated over everyone. She's pretty good. :) Christmas morning we got up and everyone opened their gifts. Among everything that David and I got was FINALLY I got my KitchenAid mixer, and to top it off I got a cookie jar to go along with it. Each of those gifts were from our parents, hmmmmmm, I wonder if they conspired? Oh, we also go a surprise gift... WE HAD A WHITE CHRISTMAS! It was so much fun. I was laying on the couch watching a movie, and my brother-in-law comes in and tells us all to look out the window. I was SO excited to see snow coming down. It did not come in huge amounts, and it only stayed for about 2 hours, but that was long enough for me to LOVE it. My mother-in-law, sister-in-law and I got all bundled up in some silly snow gear and went and tromped around their back-yard (it's like a forrest back there), and then we decided to walk down to a bridge near their home. It was so much fun. I had a blast.
All in all, Christmas was great. Very relaxing and enjoyable. One of my favorite things this Christmas was my own personal goal to remember the Savior this time of year. Every year I get wrapped up in all of my Christmas shopping and the "Holiday Cheer" and don't seem to remember te true meaning of Christmas as much as I should. This year I tried to focus alot on what an important time of year this is, and the affect that it has had on my life. I wish that all year long everyone would focus on the Savior as much as we do at Christmas time. I can only imagine what a better place the world would be. I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and you were all able to enjoy your family and the celebration of the birth of the Savior as much as I did.
