I read this one though and it really hit me close to home. With everything that has gone on these last couple of weeks with David and I, I have a huge testimony of the message of this quote.
"Elder Neal A. Maxwell linked patience and faith together when he taught: 'Patience is tied very closely to faith in our Heavenly Father.Actually, when we are unduly impatient, we are suggesting that we know what is best--better than does God. Or, at least, we are asserting that our timetable is better than His'
("Patience," Ensign,Oct. 1980, 28).
"We can grow in faith only if we are willing to wait patiently for God's purposes and pattern to unfold in our lives, on His timetable."
(Robert C. Oaks, "The Power of Patience," Ensign, Nov. 2006, 16-17)
I hope that we can all remember this daily in our lives. I received a blessing a few months back that spoke loudly about having patience. Patience with the Lord, Myself and those around me. I was told that things will happen in their own time, in the Lord's time. When I read this quote it humbled me so much to think that I might have ever questioned my Heavenly Father knowind what is best for me just by being impatient. One of the greatest songs I have ever heard is "Unanswered Prayers". What a lesson we are taught in that song. My impatience has often resulted in unanswered prayers, and although at first I have been upset or angry, in the longer run I am always that much happier. The Lord's timetable is always the right timetable, no matter how hard we try to force things. What an amazing blessing the gospel of Jesus Christ is in our lives.
