My Mom sent me a lovely e-mail asking me to update my blog. I thought I would share her thoughts with all of you, so I’ve copied and pasted the e-mail below…
Update your blog!!!
So on that note… here’s a blog update! :)
I haven’t taken too many pictures lately. I really need to get better at that. As the weather gets better I will have to just keep my camera in my diaper bag. But, here’s an update on our little family and at the end are a few pictures from the last couple of weeks…
David is still enjoying work despite everything that is going on. For anyone who doesn’t know or hasn’t heard, David’s company is being sold. There is a good chance that his position will no longer be needed, so we are looking for a new company to join. So, anyone that knows of any financial analyst positions, let us know! :) At church he is still teaching the 9-year olds. Some weeks he loves it, and some weeks not so much. But from what I understand, that comes with any primary calling. It all depends on how the kids are.
I am doing great. I worked a full work day for the first time in over 2-years this last Saturday. It was so great to be among adults all day, but I sure missed my Bubba all day long. I worked for David’s Sister’s husband, Ryan. Saturday was the first day of his new practice. During the week he works at another office, and Saturday’s are allowing him to do his own thing. It was so fun to be there, but it just reaffirmed to me that I am meant to be a Mom! :) My calling is fantastic. I love working with the scouts. We have pinewood derby this Thursday night and I can’t wait! My co-den leader is awesome, and we get along great. My days are being filled with chasing Tucker, cleaning, laundry, looking for jobs for David, and all of the fun Mommy things I get to do.
Tucker is growing SO much. We are so anxious for his 18-month appointment in May so we can see how much he has actually grown. We started him in Nursery last week. I walked in and said, “He’s in his 18th month, that counts right?” They were more than happy to have him in there because he loves it so much. I actually got to enjoy Relief Society for the first time in almost 18-months. :) Every morning he goes to the daycare at the gym and still loves it. His newest thing is the slide there. He will climb to the top of the slide, then yell “Teeter, Teeter” (teacher, teacher) and slide down. Apparently that’s what the older kids do, so it must be cool right? :) He does NOT miss a thing! He is our human shadow/sponge. It’s insane, but we love it. He loves being social, and waves or talks to anyone that will look or listen. It makes me happy that he enjoys people so much!
For the most part our family is doing well. We absolutely love it here in Salem. Our ward is awesome, and we have an amazing group of friends here. I really feel like we hit the friend jackpot because we have a good group of couples where David and I BOTH like the husband and the wife. Anyone married person out there knows that those can be a dime a dozen. So, we are praying that David’s new job, whatever it may be, will allow us to stay here in Salem. But, in our true faith, we will go where the Lord wants us and keep doing what we know is right.
We took Tucker to the park on 4/17. This was the first time we had gone since he really started walking well. He loved it so much and caught on to the whole routine of it really quick! :)
Tucker LOVES to color lately! And we love to let him because it keeps him confined in his chair! :)This was how Tucker finally fell asleep one night when he was up sick. Poor baby couldn’t make up his mind between up and down and eventually just gave up and laid on the couch.
And finally, this was Tucker’s productive nap one morning. He decided that instead of sleep he would rip the cover off of his changing table and then bounce like a monkey in his crib! :)
