My goodness, time just simply slipped away from me. Pretty sure I totally dropped the ball on my thankfulness posts. Sorry. Let’s see what’s happened since the last time I posted… Holy Moly, I haven’t even blogged about Vegas or Tucker’s birthday… Here Goes.
Tucker’s birthday was a HIT! My Mom came into town the Tuesday before and helped me to get all of the last minute details together and helped SO much at the party. I don’t know how I would have enjoyed myself as much as I did if I didn’t know I could count on my Mom for ALL that she did. Thank you so much Mom! Tucker had so much fun with his little friends. He walked around all night SO excited that there were so many people to play with. It was so cute. When it came time for presents, he was, of course, more interested in the tissue paper and wrapping paper. But, I didn’t let him play with it much because nothing is more annoying then having it take FOREVER for a 1-year old to open his presents. :) After presents we stripped Tucker down to a diaper and socks to get him ready for cake! :) While we all sang Happy Birthday to Him, all He wanted to do was grab the candle flame. So, I helped him blow out his candle and he was mad until everyone started clapping. Once we got him in the high-chair, and cake in front of him he started to literally just pick at the cake. He did this for awhile until I flipped it over to where he could grab the cake part he went to town. It was so fun to watch him.
As he was finishing up I was trying to figure out how I was going to clean him, then I realized that the clubhouse (where we had his little party) has a shower in it. So, I took Tucker and the whole high-chair and put them in the shower. Worked like a charm. :)
All in all it was a fantastic evening. We all know that a child’s 1st birthday is 100% for the parents, and not the child. So, being the parent… the party was FANTASTIC! :) Thank you to everyone who came.
Friday, the day after Tucker’s birthday, my Mom, Tucker and I flew out of Portland to Vegas for the weekend. My nephew Tyler got baptized that Saturday, which is why we went to Vegas. We had a fantastic time with the family Friday night at a Buffet of course. :) Saturday was an awesome day spent again with the family at Tyler’s baptism and playing games. Sunday, again with the family, and this time to celebrate the birthday’s of Tucker, Marianne and Tyler. I love spending time with my family. For those of you who don’t know my family, it’s probably better because you don’t know what your missing out on. We are a fun breed of people! :) And when you get us all together… watch out! Even the kids get involved in the craziness. This trip made me even more excited for when we go out to California for Christmas, only it will be SO much better because David will be there with us! :)
On Wednesday before Thanksgiving we had Tucker’s 12-month Dr. appointment. Aside for the slight cold and horrible rash, Tucker is healthy. Here are the latest stats…
Weight: 32 lbs. 9 oz.
Height: 33 1/2 inches
Head: 50 cm
He is still at the top of the charts, but is starting to taper off slightly. He got 3-shots which didn’t mix well with him come Thursday morning. Poor kid, woke up Thursday morning with a 100.4 degree temperature.
Which brings us to Thanksgiving. Seeing as Tucker woke up with a fever, it made for a touch and go day. We headed up to David’s parents house to enjoy Thanksgiving with them. It was a fun relaxing day with delicious food and good company. All of David’s immediate family was there, as well as his cousin and her daughter. It was fun visiting with everyone and spending the day relaxing.
Black Friday was kind of a bust this year. I was still sick so I didn’t get up at the crack of dawn to go shopping. Instead I waited until 9:00 and went with my friend Erin. After we hit a few stores we were glad that we didn’t bother getting up early, nothing seemed like such a huge deal it would be worth sacrificing sleep.
Saturday and Sunday we had lots of family time and enjoyed being home with David. It was so nice to have 4-days home with David, especially since Tucker and I had been in Vegas the weekend before.

I wish I had known I was in the background of those pictures. I would have moved. It's revolting to see myself these days.
Happy Birthday Tucker! I love it when kids get messy in their cakes. It's so cute! (but hard to clean up, great idea with the shower)
