This last Saturday (the 26th) David and I took Tucker to his first OSU Beaver Football game. It was so fun. I was so excited to have our own little family day at Reser Stadium.
David, Tucker and I started our weekend off with David’s parents at Olive Garden Friday night. Mmmmmm, I love me some Olive Garden. We then stayed the night at their house so they could watch Tucker for us the next morning while David and I went to the Temple. It was the first time since Tucker has been born that we’ve been able to go and do a session together at the Temple. It was so fantastic and I can’t wait to go with David again. After the Temple we went and had lunch with David’s parents at their house and then headed down to Corvallis.
The trip down to Corvallis was perfect. There was hardly any traffic, and Tucker slept the whole time so David and I were able to talk and enjoy each others company. It’s not too often that we have time to just sit and enjoy each other, so it was nice to be in the car with quiet time during Tucker’s nap.
Once we got into Corvallis traffic was a little thicker seeing as everyone was going to the game. We parked at the institute and walked down to the stadium. We took a small detour and walked through the Memorial Union building where David worked while he was in school. Tucker was SO Cute with his little Jersey on, and of course he was flirting with every girl that walked past him. He was on either my shoulders or David’s shoulders while we were walking and he would almost break his neck to look at all of the people. Once we were in the stadium, it was so cute to see Tucker look at EVERYTHING and dance to the music. He wanted to get down and walk everywhere, but with so many people he was so limited. Once we got to our seats we let him walk around for awhile. We had a really good view, our seats were on the 30-yard line and 11-rows up. I got the tickets for free on Craigslist, and all I had to do was schedule a Jewelry party. :)
When the game started Tucker was all about all of the excitement. He would yell when everyone else yelled, and he would clap. It was so cute! He was fantastic until the JERK behind us got there. This was guy was so horrible. Yelling is one thing, but when you are yelling louder than EVERYONE else and you are yelling such horrible obscenities, it just ruins it for everyone. Tucker would start crying every time this guy yelled and it was so frustrating. At one point I took Tucker out to walk around and he loved that, when we went back in he was OK for awhile. Then right before half-time I notice that his pants were SOPPING wet with pee. (Ooopps!) So I took him and changed his diaper and got some snacks. During half time he loved dancing and playing, and even for a short time during the 3rd quarter he was in a good mood until that IDIOT behind us came back. It got so bad that I just caved in and took Tucker back to the car about 1/2 way through the 3rd quarter. Once we got to the car he crashed out for awhile and I just drove around. David finished the game out because I insisted and he was able to enjoy himself, so that made me happy.
Even though the Beavers lost, it was a FANTASTIC day! I loved spending time with my 2-boys and hope that we can do a fun day like this again soon. Here are some pictures from the game…

This was how close we were, it was so fantastic
(for journaling purposes) There was one hitch in the day. The lady we got the tickets from is a season ticket holder. Her pack of tickets were stolen out of her mailbox so she had to file a police report and request duplicate tickets from OSU. Well, the person who stole her tickets sold them to someone who bought them online for $160.00… and they showed up about 45-minutes after we got there. It was so awkward until a friend of our season ticket holder showed up and explained the situation. It was so unfortunate for the other people, but David and I were sure glad that we got there first.
