We had a great Easter this year. This was our first Easter spending all day at our own house. It was great. I am really liking this new trend of spending holiday’s in our own home. A few days before Easter we dyed eggs. I tried a new technique using whipped cream and food coloring. We told Tucker that we have to leave the whipped cream on over night. If, when we wake up in the morning, the eggs are all cleaned off and color is left on them, then that means the Easter Bunny came and and Tucker and Bailey have been good and the Easter bunny will bring treats back on Sunday. As you can see in the picture with Tucker and the eggs… He and Bailey were good this year.
On Easter morning Tucker woke up before Bailey so we had him lay in bed with us and watch cartoons. When Bailey finally woke up, we reminded him that it was Easter morning and he was so excited to get her and go see if the Easter Bunny came. And he most definitely paid us a visit…
After the kids explored their baskets, we had a small Easter Egg set up for them in the family room. They had SO Much fun hunting for their eggs. After church we had a BBQ with our good friends, The Harris’, and the Missionaries. David BBQ’d some delicious steaks and we had good salads and company. We did another Easter egg hunt with the kids, outside this time. But, we had a little visitor make an appearance…
Tucker and McKenna were neither here nor there with the Easter Bunny.
However, Bailey, well… let’s just let the picture tell the story…
She would not leave the house until he was gone from the backyard. The Easter Bunny was one of the Elders. He had borrowed the costume from a member in the ward so that he could be the Bunny at a ward activity. Once there was no more bunny, Bailey made her way outside and enjoyed the Egg Hunt.
We had a great Easter. The kids were more fun than we could ask for, and spending it with good friends was great. I love all of these wonderful memories that we are building as a family.
