Our little Bailey Bug turned 9-Months Old yesterday!
I cannot believe how fast these last 9 months have gone by. It is SO crazy! We took her in for her check-up this afternoon and here are her stats…
Heights: 28.5 inches
Weight: 22.11 pds.
Head: 44.75 cm.
So she is growing right along. We compared her stats to Tucker’s and we finally found a reasonably close match to when Tucker was… 4-Months old! Yes, that is right. Tucker was as big at 4-months old, as Bailey is now…. well, he was an inch shorter and a pound lighter, but close enough. CRAZY! But, we love out little bug, and we love our big bubba! :)
She sleeps like a champ! We put her to bed at night between 7:30 and 7:45 typically. She sleeps through the night (and has since she was about a month old). She takes a nap at 10:00 for a couple of hours, and another one at 2:00 for a couple of hours. When it is time for her nap or bedtime, we are able to just lay her down and she does pretty well. We have been able to do that with her for quite some time now. With Tucker, I think he was 11-months old before we had to rock him to sleep. She is such a good baby girl! :)
Bailey is OBSESSED with bath time. Especially if she gets to take a bath with her big brother. Fortunately, Tucker enjoys taking a bath with Bailey as well. If we leave the bathroom door open, she makes a B-line for the bathtub and pulls herself up on her knees and hits the side as if to say she wants in. It is so cute! :)
Bailey is all over the place now. She crawls like a madman when she hears any outside door open. It is as if she is trying to break out or something. She loves having her independence to get where she wants, and when. We brought out Tucker’s old toys from this age and she is in heaven. Funny enough, Tucker is also. He LOVES playing with the “new” toys with Baby. Bailey is pulling herself up on everything, and if Tucker is laying on the floor, all she wants to do is climb on him. She absolutely loves her brother and they are the best of friends. She is pulling herself up to her knees everywhere she can. Every once in awhile she will get bold and pull herself up to her feet, but she is still pretty shaky. We are A-OKAY if she waits longer than Tucker did to start walking. Tucker started at 9 months and 3 weeks. So, we are looking like she will probably be a 12 month walker which is OK with me. :)
Her first little tooth finally poked through last Friday (the 4th). It seems as though it has taken forever, but in true fashion I’m sure they will all start making their way through now that one has made it. She loves eating her cheerios and any other little finger foods we give her. I am trying to remember what she can eat now that she is old enough to have big kid food. As much as I don’t want her to grow up though, I cannot wait for her to turn 1 so we can eliminate the stupid formula purchases. That will free up some change for sure. With the weather starting to change, she is going to need some cutsie shorts for sure. :)
We adore our little Bailey Bug and she brings such a sweet spirit to our family. Every morning Tucker wants to go in and help get her when she wakes up. When she sees Daddy her eyes and body light up. She loves her family as much as we love her. I cannot wait to see how she continues to grow and develop her own amazing personality.
