Easter

Holy Moly, I am actually blogging about a holiday within the same month that the holiday happened. My goodness, I must be getting all caught up. :) Easter was pretty low key this year. A few months back we planned on having my parents here, and my Uncle Don and his family. Well, that all changed once my parents got their mission call. But, that’s ok. Instead we spent it very low key. Friday, the 6th, we stayed the night at David’s parents house so we could get up and go to some furniture stores. We have been looking a lot for bedroom furniture. Saturday morning, we got up and headed out around 11:00. David’s parents were kind enough to watch the kids for us so we didn’t have to drag them along. We went to 2-stores and decided on a set from Ashley. Then David wanted to check one more store since we were in the area. I was all annoyed at the thought of it, but he was adamant. Good thing! We ended our search at Mor Furniture in Tigard. I was breezing through because I just wanted to get home. One of the salespeople asked if we needed help and I quickly said “nope”! I think he could tell I was trying to be quick because he politely said, “OK, well if you need anything my name is Robin.” In my head I said, “thanks dude, won’t need you though.” Then, as David and I both turn a corner we are drawn to a bedroom set. Could it be that we have found a bedroom set that has EXACTLY what we want? Then we saw the price and almost fell over. IT WAS SUCH A GOOD DEAL! After, much debate and discussion we wound up getting a KING size bed, with storage drawers underneath, a 9-drawer dresser, a media chest and 2 night stands. We are SO excited. Our excitement was dampened a little bit when we got home and measured. We didn’t really realize that it was going to be SUCH a tight fit. But, we know that we won’t be in this house forever, so it will be worth the sacrafice for awhile. Here is a picture of our beautiful new bedroom set. It will be delivered and set-up on the 21st! YAY!

FranklinStorageBedroom Once we were done with all of our shopping, which exhausted us, we went back to David’s parents house. David’s brother and his family came over and we did an Easter Egg hunt with the 3-big boys. I filled about 40 plastic eggs with jellybeans and mini-eggs, and the boys had a BLAST “hunting” for them. I pretty much just littered the lawn with plastic eggs, so it was more of a race of who can get to them faster. But they had so much fun.

Anytime Tucker found an egg he would hold it up in the air and call out the color of it.

I love the following pictures of the boys comparing their winnings! :) The first one is my favorite because it is right as Tucker realized there is candy inside of the eggs. :)

After our egg hunt we enjoyed a delicious Turkey dinner and played a fun game of cards. The Easter Bunny at Grandma and Papa’s house brought Tucker a stuffed alligator and Bailey a stuffed Sheep. :)

Saturday evening we headed home, and Sunday morning we woke up and I made a delicious French Toast breakfast. After Breakfast we showed Tucker the Family Easter basket which had a gift for him and Bailey, and some eggs with candy. I didn’t go too crazy on the candy this year because all it does is sit around the house and I eat it more than anyone.

We went to Sacrament that afternoon. Tucker has had a cold so I was hoping to maybe let him go to Primary, depending on how he felt. Well, half way through Sacrament he laid down on the floor and started shivering. So, I picked him up and he fell asleep on me (very rare), then he started moaning. So, we packed up the kids and headed home. After Tucker woke up from his nap he had a 102* fever, so we had a very lazy afternoon. It was OK though because his fever broke and we all really enjoyed a lazy Sunday.

All in all it was a good Easter. Next Easter should be even more fun as we are together with all of my family and celebrating my parents Homecoming from their mission. :)
