Bailey’s Blessing Day

I first have to start with this picture…

P1010231The reason this picture is so fun to me is because there is a picture of me doing this same thing on my blessing day. :) So, even though she was mad, I had to lay her on the ground and get this picture! :)3

Bailey’s blessing was so beautiful. My Mom took notes of the blessing and this is the gist what was said…

Blessing of strength to grow strong, a strong physical body to be able to full fill your activities to fill all your dreams and desires. You will make your places holy places by your sweet spirit. The spirit will be with you always. Listen to the guidance of the holy ghost, so that one day you can enter into the Lord's house in marriage for time and all eternity. You will know the love of your family, not only Mom and brother, but aunts and uncles and extended family.

I love the whole blessing for sure, but I particularly love the last sentence noted here. I have always been rather close to my Aunts, Uncles and Cousins in comparison to some of my friends and I have loved that. So, it makes me so happy to know that Bailey will have that same relationship with hers. :)

We had a great turnout for her blessing. My Aunt Debbie and cousin Maggie came down from Seattle, WA to spend Saturday and Sunday with us. My Parents and two of my brothers, Mike and Bryan, came down to spend the weekend with us. And David’s parents and his brother Nate and his family came down for the day. After the blessing we all came to our house and had a brunch and enjoyed just spending time together. It was a great day!

As I was sitting listening to Bailey’s blessing, I will say that it hurt a little not to hear that she will be a great example to her younger siblings, or that she won’t be having any siblings other than Tucker. But, I also had a great feeling knowing that she and Tucker will be close to each other always. I’m sure they will have their moments of sibling rivalry, but I know that they will be close always. I also remember looking up at this circle of Men who all are very important to me, and three of which (my Dad and brothers) who helped shaped me to be the person that I am today. What a better way to start your life than with the opportunity to be surrounded by wonderful men who hold the Priesthood and to receive a blessing. It just continues to strengthen and build my testimony of the church.

Here are a few more pictures from the day.
