Thanksgiving, Mom Retired, Decorating for Christmas

For Thanksgiving this year we went down to California to spend time with my family. First and foremost, we FINALLY got to meet our beautiful new niece Hailey Faith Boehrer, who was born on October 19th. I seriously love that baby girl so much. Tucker was SO good with her. Anytime she stated to cry he would get very concerned and try to find her binki for her. He loved trying to give it to her, although sometimes she didn’t want it and he couldn’t understand why. :) He was caught on to being gentle after a few reminders and gave her kisses all of the time. She really is the sweetest baby. Here are a couple pictures. I know I’m a little biased, but I think she is BEE-utiful! :)

Other than the pictures of Hailey and the birthday party in the previous post, I really didn’t take many more over Thanksgiving. I know, I’m bad. We had a great trip though. We left the Tuesday before and drove down to stay in one of the facilities that David’s company owns. That was great because it was free and all of the residents loved Tucker. We then met up with my Aunt and Uncle on Wednesday morning and drove the rest of the way to Sacramento. We had a blast with the whole family there. The Sunday after Thanksgiving Bryan and Monica blessed Hailey at church. Unfortunately, David had to leave to get back home for work, so he wasn’t able to be there for that, but I was grateful to be there to support Bryan.

My Mom retired from the school district on November 30th, so we got to hang out all day on December 1st. Then, on the 2nd Mom flew home with Tucker and I and was finally able to see our house. I was so happy to have my Mom here, and she was so glad to have her own room AND a tv in it. Last time she was here we were in the apartment and she had to share a room with Tucker. We had a ton of fun shopping and putting up all of my Christmas stuff. David went to the Civil War game the Saturday my Mom was here so, I was happy that my Mom could be here to help decorate, it’s more fun that way. We got almost all of it done while Tucker was napping. He was pretty funny when he woke up and saw it all. Here’s a picture of Grandma showing Tucker the tree…

P1010090 I also got to open one of my Christmas presents early. Last year my Mom got me the main part of the Willow Tree Nativity. So, this year she got me the Three Wise Men to add to it. So while we were decorating, she let me open it up so I could have a more complete set to display. Then on our way up to the airport we stopped by the bookstore and Mom surprised me with the Stars backdrop. I LOVE it. Pretty sure it’s my favorite decoration to date! :) Here are some pictures of the house completed.

We had David’s parents and sister down for dinner one evening, and I wanted a festive table. So I borrowed this runner from my friend. I liked how it turned out. I think I’ll make it a tradition to have David’s parents down every year around Christmas time. It’s always nice to have people over. :)P1010123

This is our beautiful tree. It’s fake, and we borrowed it from David’s parents, but we love it! So pretty!P1010096

My awesome nativity set. Tucker would always look at it and point out the baby. He knew that it was a “no-no”, so he would shake his finger at it and say “a no-no”. He would do that to the tree also. Such a cute baby boy!P1010125

This was the “Christmas Table” in the corner. Tucker was SO good to not touch anything.  P1010124

My little decoration above our sliding glass door. My Mom did it all up for me. :)P1010091

Playing with the only decoration he was allowed to touch. Sadly enough, he even lost the baby Jesus. Hopefully he’ll show up when I’m putting everything away. P1010101

I love seeing your house and of course Tucker. Aren't the holidays wonderful with children. We hope to see you soon.

I love your nativity scene! I have a tiny one, and I need something like those. Way to go for Tucker being a good boy and not trying to destroy your decor too! Chloe gets into everything, and it drives me nuts!
