As promised… (a couple of days late)

Phew… October was busier than I thought it was. Every time I sat down to post it was so overwhelming because there was too much to do. So, I have now buckled down and will update the blog. Just so you all know, this is killing me because my house is a mess, BUT I must update since it’s pretty much my journal! :)

Man, my last legit post was on October 12th… LAME! A lot has been happening in the Mize household. Let’s see if I can get it all in the right order. I have honestly done a terrible job of taking pictures, I will try to get better.

The beginning of October I was asked to help out at The Courthouse (the gym I used to go to) with an employee pot luck. They asked me to help out with the childcare so the parents could enjoy their time. As payment I got a free month membership with free childcare… YAY!  So I was able to start going to the gym again, which resulted in a 15 lb. loss (WOO! HOO!) and Tucker started doing better in nursery because he was used to me coming and going again. :) Also, another good thing that came of  it was I was able to get a job at the gym a week ago working about 6 hrs. a week in the childcare. So, in addition to getting a paycheck I’ll be getting a free membership, I get to take Tucker to work with me, and a load of other perks. So, I can’t argue. Tucker and I now spend our mornings at the gym just like when before. It’s great. I get my Mommy time and Tucker has a place where he can run and play. :)

We had 2 Halloween parties to go to this last month. The first one was on the 23rd. David dressed as a cowboy and I was an 80’s chick. Not my prettiest pictures, but here you go…

Seriously… this kind of makeup was once cool? I did have my bangs done in the wave, but it was raining pretty hard as you can see from my shirt.

The following weekend, on the 29th, we had another party to go to. Now, let me just say that I learned this year that I HATE dressing up for Halloween. I’m just not a creative person, so I have the best of intentions, and then I just don’t care anymore. It is now just a holiday for Tucker as far as I’m concerned. So, I was Halloween’d out for this party. I called my brother Mike and asked him what I should be and this is what he came up with. If you can figure it out leave a comment… it’s not that hard, but surprisingly a lot of people didn’t get it. :) David’s costume came from a presentation he had to do for work. One of the VP’s thought it would be fun if David wore this costume since his presentation had to do with the finances. :)

On Halloween we went to David’s sisters house up in Ridgefield, WA. We met up with the rest of David’s family and had dinner then went and did a little door to door. This was Tucker’s first time actually going door to door and he LOVED it! The first house he was a little leary, then he got the idea at the second house that when he held up his bucket they would put candy in it. So, once he got his candy from the second house he started running down the sidewalk yelling, “GO! GO! GO! GO! GO!” He was ready for the rest. It was so fun. As I was walking along I had one of those Mom moments where I realized, “I am actually a Mom. I’m taking my child trick-or-treating. I have arrived.” This was the first time that I had gone trick-or-treating since I was a kid. Surprisingly, it was a LOT more fun to go this year than it ever was before. :) Here are a few pictures from the night…

We had a GREAT October and Halloween was a BLAST. We are looking forward to November. Tucker is turning TWO (I can’t believe it) and we are heading down to California to spend Thanksgiving with my WHOLE family. I can’t wait. I’m sure we’ll have some good stories to share and hopefully LOT’S of pictures. So, until then….
