Alright, let me first say that I don’t have any pictures. I’m sorry. I need to have my camera more on hand. But, you can imagine how cute Tucker was in the following story. ;)
Tonight I had scouts for the first time since school was out in June. I brought Tucker with me as normal, and decided to forego the stroller because he’s getting too big to just sit in it. So to keep him out of trouble I kept telling him to do what the big boys were doing. During the opening ceremonies/flag Tucker was sitting with the cub scouts. When they all stood for the flag, it took him a second to figure out what they were doing, and then he popped right up. He LOVED standing right in the midst of all of the big boys, and feeling like one of them. Now, if that wasn’t cute enough, as everyone was saluting the flag Tucker looked around and figured out he was supposed to salute as well. So, to the best of his ability he held his pointer finger up to his eye and “saluted” the flag the whole time. Then promptly folded his arms for prayer when it was time. I won’t lie… if definitely made my eyes well up a bit. It made me really think of what he is absorbing and how important it is to surround him with good examples. He is definitely a handful at Scouts, but I can’t think of a better place for him to be at that time. He LOVES the big boys, and doing all that they do. He wants to be right there with them, and they are all SO good with him. We have Scouts again on the 21st, so I will try and remember my camera to share some cute pictures with everyone.
